The project aims to provide incentives and support to university research groups of recognized excellence to conduct innovative collaborative research projects with private sector companies, in order to enhance knowledge transfer to the real economy and stimulate innovation within Greek universities.
Furthermore, it aims to more effectively connect university research with the estimated needs of the national economy and society, with the ultimate goal of strengthening innovative entrepreneurship, improving the competitiveness of Greek businesses and domestic added value, as well as creating new highly qualified jobs.
Partnerships of existing enterprises regardless of size are supported, namely: Micro, Small, Medium and Large Enterprises, as defined in Commission Recommendation 2003/361/EC and Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), represented by the relevant Special Research Fund Account (SRA), in accordance with the relevant institutional framework governing their operation, with the following basic conditions:
• Enterprises have at least one (1) fully closed management year. It is noted that the substitution of the Enterprise by a subcontractor in the execution and delivery of all or part of the project is not permitted.
• The partnership includes at least one company and one Higher Educational Institution (HEI), in accordance with article 3 of Law 4957/2022 (Government Gazette A' 141), whose academic units (Departments/Single-Department Schools) organize first, second and third cycle programs.
• A member of the partnership is not allowed to become a subcontractor or supplier to another member for the needs of the "Research Excellence Partnerships" project.
